Terms of Use

1. The Service

Lanternplay lets you describe a setting and a cast, and generates a full branching story — text, illustrations, and optional narration and sound — that you can review, edit, and share as a playable interactive story.

Story text, character dialogue, illustrations, and audio are generated using third-party AI models. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, unexpected, or occasionally reproduce patterns seen elsewhere. You are responsible for reviewing generated content before sharing or publishing it.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your credentials confidential. You're responsible for all activity under your account.

You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction, or have a parent or guardian's permission, to use the Service.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, as described in Section 7.

3. Credits

Generating a story, its illustrations, and its audio consumes "credits" from your account balance. New accounts receive a starter allotment of free credits; additional credits can be purchased in packs.

Credits are consumed at the time a generation action is requested, whether or not you are satisfied with the result — regenerating an asset costs credits again.

• Credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and do not expire.
• Credit purchases are generally final and non-refundable, except where required by applicable law or at our discretion for a verified service failure (for example, a paid generation that failed to run).

4. Payments

Credit pack purchases are processed by Ameriabank VPOS, a third-party payment processor. When you buy credits, you'll be redirected to Ameriabank's secure hosted payment page to enter your card details — Lanternplay does not receive or store your full card number.

Prices are shown in the currency displayed at checkout. You authorize us to charge your chosen payment method for the credit pack you select.

5. Your Content and AI-Generated Content

You retain ownership of the prompts, descriptions, and other input you provide ("Your Input"). You grant Lanternplay a license to use Your Input to generate story content and operate the Service.

Subject to these Terms, you own the story content generated from Your Input (text, images, and audio produced for your game). You grant Lanternplay a license to host, store, and — if you choose to publish or share a story — display and stream that content to the people who access your share link or browse the public Explore gallery.

Because generated content is produced by AI models trained on large datasets, similar prompts from different users may occasionally produce similar results. We do not guarantee that any generated content is unique or free of third-party rights.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to generate, publish, or share content that:

• Is illegal, or promotes illegal acts;
• Sexually exploits minors in any way;
• Is intended to harass, defame, or incite violence against real individuals or groups;
• Infringes another party's intellectual property or privacy rights;
• Attempts to circumvent the Service's moderation or usage limits.

Generation requests are automatically screened for policy violations before processing. We may remove content, decline a generation request, or suspend an account that violates this section.

7. Public Sharing and the Explore Gallery

Stories you mark as published or shared may be made available via a public link, and — if you choose — listed on the public Explore gallery, where anyone can discover and play them without needing an account.

You can change a story's visibility or remove it from the Explore gallery at any time from your library. Removing a story from Explore does not immediately expire previously shared links; disable sharing entirely to revoke access.

8. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or if required to do so by law.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Account settings. Deleting your account removes your stories, characters, and account data, subject to what we're legally required to retain (see the Privacy Policy).

9. Disclaimers

The Service, and all AI-generated content, is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including — to the extent permitted by law — warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, appropriateness, or availability of AI-generated content, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lanternplay will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or 50 USD, whichever is greater.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

[Governing law and jurisdiction to be specified by Lanternplay before this policy is considered final.] These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Lanternplay operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
